Looking back on the past three decades, I’m filled with joy and gratitude for how far I’ve come. I grew up in a family that faced many challenges, but my parents instilled in us the values of dreaming big, working hard, and keeping the faith.
I started out as a bank employee, earning just enough to get by—but not enough to fulfill the dreams I had for my family. In 1991, I made a bold decision to leave the bank and join Philam Life, now AIA Philippines. I had no experience in insurance, only the determination to create a better life.
What I discovered was more than a job—it was a mission. I realized that selling insurance wasn’t just about business; it was about helping people find peace of mind and protect their dreams. Over the years, my hard work bore fruit: I received multiple awards, traveled across continents, and sent all three of my children to one of the country’s most prestigious universities. I was also able to invest in properties that gave my family comfort and security.
One of the greatest blessings I’ve received is AIA’s Agents Provident Plan. It’s a retirement program that truly values every contribution. Even with just five years of consistent contributions, you receive 50% shares—and after 15 years, 100%. Imagine the rewards if you continue until retirement!
To all young advisors out there: start early, contribute regularly. You may not see the benefits right away, but trust me—when you reach retirement age, you’ll thank yourself for making that wise decision.
Today, even as I reach retirement age, I continue to serve as an Agency Manager—mentoring young advisors and supporting our policyholders. This journey has been deeply fulfilling, and I hope my story inspires others to build a life of purpose and impact through this profession.
Thanks to AIA, I didn’t just build a career—I built a legacy.
