MANILA, PHILIPPINES, October 11, 2026 — Filipinos want to live healthier. The next step is making healthy choices a constant part of everyday life. AIA Philippines is addressing this with the latest enhancements to AIA Vitality, a pioneering science-backed total health and wellness program in the Philippine insurance industry that encourages and rewards healthy lifestyle choices. The latest upgraded version offers a more personalized health assessment, new nutrition-tracking capabilities, and expanded wellness benefits to help members take charge of their health goals.

This update comes six months after AIA Philippines’ latest Rethink Healthy study, which found that Filipinos are moving away from a passive “bahala na” mindset when it comes to their health. Seven in 10 Filipinos are prioritizing their physical health, while 60% say they are done with simply “winging it” when it comes to their mental well-being. However, 83% say they became more proactive about their health only after experiencing major life events, such as illness, hospitalization, or job loss.

For AIA Philippines, the findings point to the importance of making health more actionable, not just something people think about when a health concern arises.

“Our research shows that Filipinos want to take greater ownership of their health, but they need the right support to turn intention into action,” said Melita Teo, President and Chief Executive Officer, AIA Philippines. “By connecting holistic health solutions across protection, prevention, wellness and rewards, AIA Philippines is building an integrated ecosystem that supports Filipinos at every stage of their health journey. AIA Vitality brings this to life, helping people make informed choices and build healthier habits that last.”

A More Complete View of Health, All in One Place

The enhanced AIA Vitality brings every aspect of a member’s health journey into one place, reinforcing its three-part approach: Know Your Health, Improve Your Health, and Get Rewarded. The program combines health assessments and screenings with daily activity tracking, wellness benefits, and rewards for healthy behaviors.

Its new Health Assessment provides a personalized view across physical activity, fitness, nutrition, biometrics, health conditions, mental well-being, sleep, and alcohol and tobacco use. It translates this information into three actionable measures: Vitality Age, which compares a member’s health with their actual age; Vitality Health Priority, which identifies areas for improvement; and Vitality Future Health, which estimates the additional healthy years they could gain by making positive changes.

The new Food Tracker makes nutrition monitoring just as simple. Members can upload photos of their meals to receive food ratings, nutritional feedback and personalized tips, including calorie and macronutrient information, while weekly reports provide a clear snapshot of their eating habits.

Every healthy action helps members progress through four AIA Vitality status levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Members start at Bronze and move up as they earn points from activities such as exercising, eating well, completing health assessments and getting sufficient sleep. The higher their status, the greater the rewards and benefits they can unlock.

With the refreshed AIA Vitality, members get more rewards for healthier choices. New benefits1 include up to 50% off Nike products, up to 15% off luggage and accessories from The Travel Club, and up to 15% off Garmin fitness devices. Members can also access a complimentary AIA Vitality Health Check at MediCard, including a free consultation with a MediCard doctor for results outside the normal range.

Grounded in AIA Philippines’ Rethink Healthy research, the AIA Vitality upgrade responds to a clear challenge: Filipinos understand that health extends beyond physical fitness, but knowing is not always enough. By turning insights into practical tools and meaningful rewards, AIA Vitality really helps move Filipinos from bahala na to handa na.

AIA Vitality is available in AIA health solutions, including AIA Critical Protect Plus, AIA Critical Protect 100 and AIA All-in-One, as well as BPI AIA products, like BPI AIA MultiCare Protect and BPI AIA Critical Care 100.
