Chairman
Aibee Cantos is currently the Senior Advisor to the CEO of AIA Philippines, a member of the Board of Directors of AIA Philippines, and sits as Chairman of the Board of Philam Foundation.
Prior to his appointment, he was the CEO of AIA Philippines where he focused on building a strong team and operating platform to deliver sustainable business growth. In 2017, he was also the President of the Philippine Life Insurance Association (PLIA) and Chairman of the ASEAN Insurance Council.
Before he became the CEO of AIA Philippines, he held the role of CEO of BPI-Philam, the bancassurance joint venture of AIA Philippines and the Bank of the Philippine Islands, and the leading bancassurance operation in the Philippines. Prior to spearheading the growth of BPI-Philam in 2013, he held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Agency Officer at AIA Philippines. He had an enriching and successful career in AIA Philippines' Agency Distribution Channel, where he served for close to 30 years. He held various positions within the channel such as Profit Center Head of Accident & Health Products, Director of Manila Agencies, and Director of Provincial Agencies.
Mr. Cantos graduated with a degree in Economics, Honors Program, from Ateneo de Manila University.
President and CEO of Philam Foundation
Max G. Ventura is currently the President and CEO of Philam Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the AIA Philippines Group of Companies and has been an advocate for corporate social responsibility since he joined AIA Philippines in 2000. He also got involved with forest conservation and indigenous people’s rights when he served as deputy director of the Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Program for South and Southeast Asia based in Manila. Mr. Ventura graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in business administration (1991) and was actively involved in the student council where he served as batch representative and eventually Vice-Chairman of the College of Business Administration. He has a master's degree in development management from the Asian Institute of Management (2006), and was a Fujitsu scholar for the East-West Knowledge Leaders Program of the Japan-America Institute of Management Science (2009) in Hawaii where he graduated with distinction and Model of Innovation Awardee. He is currently taking up his Doctorate in Business Administration at the De La Salle University and teaches CSR at the College of St. Benilde.
He started his path in social development work as a Jesuit Volunteer in the early 90’s assigned to Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas Mindanao organizing and helping out farmers during the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law. He underwent formation as a Jesuit seminarian in preparation for priesthood but he eventually left in 2000 to continue a life of service as a lay person. He believes in “doing good while doing well” and tries to live out a faith based life of service. He also currently serves as chairman of the Philippine Coalition on Volunteerism or PhilCV which strives to mainstream volunteerism for nation building and The Center for Art, New Ventures & Sustainable Development (CANVAS), a nonprofit organization, that works with the creative community to promote children's literacy, explore national identity, and deepen public appreciation for Philippine art, culture and the environment.
Trustee
Surendra Menon is the Chief Executive Officer of BPI-Philam Life Assurance Corporation. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Menon held the role of Regional Director for Bancassurance of the AIA Group. As a catalyst in the Bancassurance industry, he has built and developed various profitable businesses in Asia including Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines. He joined AIA in 2003 and was responsible for acquisition of 10 partnerships in Indonesia including BCA, CIMB, ANZ and was the Deputy CEO and CDO. He then became the subject matter expert for the AIA Group in Bancassurance for 2013 to 2015. Helping many countries in Asia with 2014 & 2015 final on BPI-Philam in Philippines. As the current CEO, he steers the management of BPI-Philam to transform the business into one of the leading life insurance companies in Philippines.
Mr. Menon has actuarial, financial planning and investment management qualifications from UK, Singapore and Indonesia, respectively. Prior to joining AIA, he worked in DBS Bank in Singapore, BDNI Life in Indonesia, and the Insurance Corporation of Singapore (now known as Aviva in Singapore). He was also a director of GT Asset Management in forming the first mutual fund in Indonesia and, was a police inspector in the Singapore Police Force and Captain in the 1st Rescue Battalion Singapore Civil Defense as part of his national service duty.
Trustee
Eric S. Lustre, is currently the President and CEO of the Philam Asset Management, Inc. He is also Chief Executive Officer of AIA Philippines Properties Corporation and the President of Tower Club, Inc.
Mr. Lustre is a member of the Board of Directors of PHINMA Corporation, ICCP Holdings, Inc., Science Park of the Philippines, Inc., Regatta Properties, Inc., Beacon Property Ventures, Inc., Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation, Cebu Light Industrial Park, Inc., and RFM-Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. He is also Treasurer of the Philippine Investment Funds Association (PIFA) as well as a member of the Fund Management Association of the Philippines (FMAP) and the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP).
He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and holds a Master’s degree in Business Management major in Finance from the Asian Institute of Management.
Chief Legal Officer
As Head of Legal & Corporate Secretary, Atty. Domingo also serves as the Corporate Secretary of BPI-Philam Life Assurance Corporation (formerly Ayala Life). She also served as corporate secretary of various Philam companies from 2008 to January 2014, to with: Philam Equitable Life Assurance Company; Philam Properties Group of Companies; Philam Asset Management Inc.; AIA Philippines Call Center Services, Inc.; the Tower Club, Inc. and Philam Foundation, Inc.
She also served as Deputy Company Secretary of AIA Group Limited from February 7, 2014 to February 6, 2015
Trustee
Denise Saclag is the Financial Controller for AIA Philippines. She is responsible for delivering financial reports to Group and local management and to the Philippine regulators, ensuring adequate and effective controls over financial reporting, and managing capital requirements and budget process.
Prior to joining AIA Philippines, Denise was a Senior Director at Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co (a member firm of Ernst & Young). She has extensive experience in tax accounting and compliance, internal control reviews, due diligence reviews and general tax advisory services for local and foreign clients.
Denise is a member of Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). She graduated cum laude from University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree. She placed 6th in the October 2002 Philippine CPA Board Examinations.
Chief Finance Officer
Mr. Gary Ogilvie is a seasoned Finance professional and qualified UK Chartered Accountant who now takes the role of Chief Financial Officer in AIA Philippines. With 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, he demonstrates strong commercial acumen and experience beyond his core finance capability.
Prior to his appointment as AIA Group’s Regional Business Development Director in 2015, he served as the Deputy CEO and CFO of AIA Vitality, rolling it out across three major AIA markets – Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong. He also held other positions in the Group, namely Head of Finance Transformation and Systems from 2007 to 2012, and AVP for Finance in 2006. With over a decade of experience in the AIA Group, Mr. Ogilvie has proven his expertise in starting up initiatives and business transformation: from visioning to execution, business development, financial governance, program management, and system implementation.
Treasurer
As AIA Philippines' Head of Treasury, Mr. Arvin Matuloy is responsible for the Disbursement, Collections and Cash Management processes of the Company.
Arvin has 20 years extensive experience in the financial services industry having worked with various local and foreign banks with expertise in Payments and Cash Management. Prior joining AIA Philippines, he was the Head of Payments and Liquidity Management of ING Business Shared Services B.V. Philippine Branch managing the Payments and Liquidity processes of ING Netherlands and ING branches in Asia. Other experience includes, Head of Banking Operations at JP Morgan Chase Bank Manila, Head of Items Processing at Standard Chartered Bank and International Exchange Bank
Arvin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from San Beda College – Manila.
Controller
Leny Villamar is the Head of Finance for Philam Asset Management, Inc. (PAMI). As PAMI’s Head of Finance, she is responsible for developing financial strategies and its related performance metrics, ensuring adequate and effective financial control measures, and managing capital requirements and budget process. She has been with AIA Philippines for over 30 years and has occupied various senior positions within the group. Prior to joining AIA Philippines, she worked for SGV & Co. Ms. Villamar is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is a Fellow with distinction at the Life Management Institute. She has also completed various certification courses like the Advanced Life Insurance Course and the Trust Operations and Investment Management Course. She was a National State Scholar and received her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accountancy from the University of Sto. Tomas, graduating cum laude
Corporate Secretary
Atty. Ace Devino A. Custodio is currently the Assistant Corporate Secretary of The Philippine American Life & General Insurance Co. and BPI-Philam Life Assurance Corporation. He also serves as the Corporate Secretary of Philam Equitable Life Assurance Company, Inc., Philam Properties Corporation, Philam Asset Management, Inc., Philam Tower Realty Corporation, Philamlife Tower Condominium Corporation, Philamlife Tower Management Corporation, Philam Foundation, Inc. AIA Philippines Call Center Services, Inc., Kapatiran Realty Corporation, PERF Realty Corporation, and Tower Club, Inc.
Atty. Custodio is a graduate of University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree Major in Economics (cum laude). He likewise took his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the same University.
